Heading Home

As much as we wanted to stay longer, it was time to head back to San Diego. We didn't get a chance to drive out to Cathedral Valley, which is one of my favorite places in Utah, but Capitol Reef saved our vacation. After all the snow and lousy weather in Bryce, it was wonderful to have blue skies, lots of green trees, and warm weather in Capitol Reef.

We left Capitol Reef and returned to I-15 the same way we had come to avoid crossing Boulder Mountain and and the hassles of driving through the Zion tunnel. We certainly know the road between Salt Lake City and Las Vegas well. I think we average at least one trip up and down that road per year.

The drive home was uneventful, and we even made it home before dark. In fact, we had the motorhome unloaded and everything in the house before dark.

Our final vacation itinerary didn't look anything like our original plans, but we made it home safely and saw some new areas around Page. Hopefully, the fall trip to the Rockies will follow our plans a little better.
