2008 Rocky Mountains Trip

Saturday, September 6

Today was our first driving day. Although we got up at 5:00, we still didn't hit the freeway until 6:30. We loaded the Explorer and parked it in the garage overnight and packed all the food in the motorhome the night before. The biggest improvement this morning was that the Even Brake didn't display any errors, and we could simply leave home and drive straight to the freeway without any emergency stops.

It was very quiet most of the day today in the motorhome. Carol slept from Temecula all the way to Las Vegas. She woke up for the gas stop and lunch in Las Vegas and then stayed awake most of the afternoon. Traffic was light throughout the day, and we reached our destination of Beaver, Utah, before dark. We camped at the Beaver KOA, which had WIFI, cable hookups, and was clean and neat. We got a pull-through, so we just have to unplug everything in the morning and drive away. For a single-night stop, it was perfect.
