2009 New England Trip

Saturday, October 3

Today was our travel day. We flew first class to Boston on American Airlines. Flying first class is the only way to go. We got to board first, had much better service, actually had room to relax in our seats, and got to deplane first. The flight was a little bumpy as there seemed to be storms all the way across the country. The seat belt light was on throughout the flight. Boston was socked in with clouds, but the landing couldn't have been smoother.

We picked up our car at Enterprise and were on our way. The two rental cars we reserved weren't available, so we had to "settle" for a Crown Victoria. That turned out to be one of the best deals of the trip.

It took us two blocks to get lost. We made a second trip around the airport and found our way to the Interstate. We only missed one more turn in the 24 miles before we reached our Best Western in Concord.

We tried the Italian restaurant right across from the motel. It had a lot more promise than quality food. The restaurant staff couldn't have been nicer, but the food just wasn't up to the quality we're used to in Little Italy. By 9:00 PST, we're exhausted and fighting to stay awake. It looks like this will be an early night.
