Back to California
After 7 1/2 weeks, it was time to return to California. We had decided to stay a couple of days at Lake Skinner near Temecula so Carol could visit her Aunt Syl. The campground is only about 20 minutes from Aunt Syl, so it seemed like an easy way to see her before we drove home.
The drive we estimated to take 6 1/2 hours took over 8 hours. It was a bit windy and we hit terrible traffic in San Bernadino. We didn't have any serious issues. We just didn't make good time at all. It was nearly 5:00 when we reached the campground at Lake Skinner and it was already dark. Setting up in the dark is never a good thing, but when we got to our campsite, our "neighbors" had taken over their campsite and ours. They moved their truck from our driveway, but didn't really move any of their stuff out of our campsite. They were so far into our campsite, I had a terrible time even getting in. I should have just pulled up to them with my brights on and waited until they moved.
We finally got set up, but we were so close to the bushes on one side that I'll have to re-position the motorhome tomorrow after our neighbors leave. What a pain!
