What's Next?

Our original plan for today was to try to find the Alien Throne at Ah-shi-sle-pah. This would be our last hike before we leave for Monument Valley tomorrow. But last night on the way back from Bisti, we talked about adding 10 days in the Ouray, Colorado, area to our trip. The fall color is supposed to be peaking there in the next couple of weeks, and that would be a nice change from the scenery we'll be seeing the rest of the trip. It seemed simple enough, but then the weather forecast complicated everything. It's supposed to rain later in the week across the region, including 4 out of the next 7 days in Ouray. We spent this morning looking at all the possibilities for next week. In the end, we decided to postpone today's hike to tomorrow to allow the "roads" to dry another day from Friday's rain and to give us another day for our blisters to recuperate. We'll finalize our plans for next week tomorrow...maybe.

We escaped camp this afternoon to check out the Four Corners Antique Tractor Show. The only problem was that the show was Friday and Saturday instead of Saturday and Sunday. Oh, well... We made a quick stop at Safeway and then the critical stop at the Dairy Queen for sustenance before returning to camp for the evening.
