Camp Day

Today's plan was to drive to the Needles District of Canyonlands National Park, but we managed to extend our stay one more night at the Blue Mountain RV Park. The only bad thing was that we had to change campsites. A huge Family Motor Coach 4-wheel drive club was coming in over the weekend, and they had reserved our original site. The extra day gave us a day off to rest after three straight days of hiking.

We switched campsites in the late morning and drove into Blanding in the afternoon. We visited the Dinosaur Museum, which was pretty impressive for such a small town. Then we drove around town just checking out the houses and communities.

Our last stop was the grocery store to re-stock before we leave for Capitol Reef and the middle of nowhere. As it turned out, the store in Blanding wasn't that much better. We found the critical things, but we definitely didn't get everything on our list. We're spoiled at home where we can get anything we want, usually from a single store. The choices are VERY limited in these small towns and most products are generic brands.
