Bryce Canyon

It was completely overcast when we woke up, and it rained on and off most of the day. We had hoped to buy groceries in Loa on our way to Bryce Canyon, but we forgot it was Sunday in Utah. The store was closed. Since today was going to be a lost day, we decided to spend the morning getting groceries and washing clothes. Pretty exciting stuff!

About 3:30, we heard thunder rumbling off in the distance. The sky looked very threatening but it wasn't raining, so we drove to Bryce Canyon in hopes of shooting lightening over the canyon. The lightening never materialized, but the formations in the canyon had absorbed enough of the rain to saturate the colors even beyond their natural red and brown hues. The saturated colors and the dark, brooding clouds created some very interesting images.
