Cape Blanco Lighthouse

When we checked the sky this morning, we discovered that we had returned to our normal pattern of morning clouds. We went back to bed.

By late morning, the sun began to break through the clouds, so we drove down to Cape Blanco to shoot the lighthouse. Cape Blanco is probably my least favorite lighthouse on the Oregon Coast. It sits back away from the ocean cliffs so you can't see the beach or the ocean with the lighthouse. The sun peeked in and out of the clouds while we were there, so we're hoping we got some Ok shots. There won't be anything good.

As we drove back to camp, the sun was shining and the sky was blue. Our plan was to eat a quick lunch and then drive back north to shoot Haceta Head Lighthouse. Haceta Head is my favorite lighthouse on the coast, but we had skipped it earlier because of all the foggy weather. When we finished lunch, the clouds had blown in and there was no point in driving up to Haceta Head. So far we've missed three of our favorite locations because of the weather: Haceta Head Lighthouse, Thor's Well, and Cape Kiwanda. I'm glad we got good shots of them on our last trip.
