Destination Tulare
We only drove to Tulare today, so we weren't concerned about getting an early start. The weather was forecast to be in the 90's in the Central Valley, so we knew it would be a very warm ride.
Los Angeles was one long traffic jam from Corona all the way to Magic Mountain. And it was midmorning on a Monday! We stopped for lunch in our usual spot near Magic Mountain and then cruised over the Grapevine and into Tulare where it was 98. We cranked up the air conditioning in the motel and crashed until dinner. We followed our tradition of celebrating our first day's completion with dinner at KFC and called it a day. Tomorrow, it's on to Yosemite.
