Our run of nearly perfect weather ended today. When I got up, the sky was completely overcast, and it was only 52 degrees. Even the ducks and geese seemed to think it was too cool to entertain us today. They made one pass to show off their young, and then they were gone.
We left for the Columbia River Gorge right after work. We made excellent time right up to the point that we hit the Portland traffic on I-205. It was 5:30 and traffic was at a standstill. We finally made it to the Sandy Riverfront RV Resort about 6:30.
We got everything set up and then ventured out to Wendy's for a delicious fast-food dinner. It was the first fast-food we have eaten on the trip.
After last night's late foray, we decided to stay close to camp and watch a movie. We watched "Company Men," which followed the lives of 3 men who were laid off after devoting their entire careers to building a company. I hope that wasn't a bad omen for my employment. It seems to be a very common story today across America. Companies feel no loyalty toward the employees that made them great.
Tomorrow is Friday, and then we're heading into a weekend of shooting waterfalls in the Columbia River Gorge.
