2011 Oregon Trip

Thursday, July 21

Carol and Jackie went river rafting on the Rogue River today. Jackie enjoys rafting, and Carol enjoyed it when she did it with the kids on the American River in the late 80's. It sounds like they had a good time and even volunteered to jump out of the raft and "run" a rapid floating in the river.

After I finished working, we drove over to Matt and Jackie's for pizza, beer, and picture sharing. They had their honeymoon pictures from the Caribbean, and Carol had developed some of her images from the trip. We hooked up a computer to their TV and had a show.

Matt and Jackie's images of the gorgeous green water with the blue sky and giant cumulus clouds above were stunning. It sounds like they had a great time and had a chance to relax after the wedding.

Matt & Jackie surprised us with two new bird whirligigs for the back yard. They added a Canadian goose and an oriole to the pelican we bought in Bandon. We saw lots of Canadian geese on the trip, and we have two pairs of orioles that spend the spring and summer with us in La Mesa, so both whirligigs fit right in.

We made it an early night because Matt and Jackie have to leave in the late morning tomorrow for a wedding on the Oregon coast in Florence.
