Day with Family

Today provided an opportunity to spend time with Carol's relatives. Although they live relatively close in the San Fernando Valley, we don't get to see them often. We enjoyed lunch with Carol's Aunt Anne. Carol researched good lunch places, and found a Chinese restaurant with outstanding reviews. I think the reviews had more to do with a very loyal customer base than the quality of the food or atmosphere. The restaurant was in a storefront with maybe 8 tables. It wasn't the nice restaurant rich in atmosphere that Carol had hoped for. The food was OK, but it didn't match the 4.5 stars the reviews averaged.

We met Carol's cousin Karen and her husband Larry for dinner at Lure Fish House in Camarillo. It was a beautiful restaurant that was very busy. Carol raved about her clam chowder. We got to re-live parts of Karen and Larry's European vacation and look forward to them coming down to San Diego so we can see more of the images they took. The food at Lure's deserved the 4.5 stars.

We didn't get home until about 10:00, so there was no movie tonight. We started packing things up to get ready to leave for home tomorrow. After three weeks, we're ready to go home.
