Touring the Neighborhood

Rain was still forecast for today, so our plan was to stay close to home. Carol and I joined Grace and the girls on a driving tour of the neighborhood. They live right across the street from a shallow canyon that has been set aside as open space with hiking and equestrian trails. We parked at the northeast end of the canyon and walked out to a point with a beautiful view of the Wasatch Mountains. Shawn and Grace also live less than 20 miles from the major ski resorts like Alta, Brighton, and Solitude.

We also drove over to Granite Park, which is a wonderful park at the end of a tree-lined lane. You'd never guess a park could be tucked into a corner of the housing development and behind a wonderful screen of trees. Then we drove around to some of the magnificent homes in the area. Not only were the homes amazing, but the landscaping and views of the mountains and/or the city below took them up to another level. You could almost put up with winter to live in one of these homes. Almost...

We spent most of the rest of the day washing clothes and getting cleaned up. We have reached the halfway point of our trip, and we desperately needed to wash clothes. The hot weather at the beginning of the trip, took a heavy toll on our clean clothes.

We finished our evening with dinner at McGrath Fish House. The food was good, and it was a wonderful relaxing dinner.
