Homeward Bound
We got an early start and left hot for hotter. St. George, Las Vegas, and Baker were all hotter than Zion, and they were all on our way home. We passed St. George before 9:00, so it was no problem. By the time we reached Las Vegas, we started the generator and ran our motorhome A/C also. It was partly a precaution to prevent the engine from overheating on the long hills just outside Las Vegas and Baker, but it was also to keep us from overheating! Whenever we weren't climbing hills, we had both air conditioners running.
We cruised along until we hit heavy traffic on I-15 near Norco. We lost an hour in traffic, and that put us in Friday rush-hour traffic in San Diego. We finally got home at 5:30 after 11 hours on the road. It was a very long day!
