Camp Day

We woke up to clear blue skies and sunlight trying to filter through the trees. The temperature was only in the mid-50's, and the humidity was 89%. The dense canopy from the trees provided a beautiful environment, but it also kept it cooler later into the morning; especially for our campsite. The dampness made it feel much cooler than it really was.

We returned to South Falls in mid-morning to check out the lighting on the falls. We quickly realized the lighting wasn't going to work because of all the hotspots a the top of the falls. It looks like early morning or mid-afternoon will be better when we return to photograph tomorrow.

We enjoyed spending the afternoon today with Carol's friend, Nancy, and her daughter Kelsey. Nancy and Kelsey used to live in San Diego, and Nancy worked with Carol in Carol and Hal's pottery business. Whenever we're in the area, Carol tries to set up some time to spend with Nancy. Today, Nancy and Kelsey joined us in our campsite for a relaxing afternoon of catching up on the latest news.
