Face Rock

The sun finally burned through the clouds today about 1:00, so we drove down to the Face Rock viewpoint. We hiked down to the beach and shot among the sea stacks for a couple of hours, but we weren't inspired. The light was mid-day flat, and the scenes were pretty blah. The good news was that we got familiar with the formations and how they lined up. Hopefully, we can use that information when (if) we get good light.

On our way back to camp, we photographed the Coquille River Lighthouse from across the Coquille River at South Jetty Park and Jetty Road SW. This is one of the few lighthouses we saw on the trip that has been shut down, but which hasn't been restored and doesn't have tours through it.

We returned to camp and relaxed for the remainder of the afternoon. We returned to Bandon Beach for sunset, but the clouds rolled in long before sunset. We caught a brief glimpse of the sun at the horizon, but it only lasted a minute or two.
