Tires

We had a rear tire checked yesterday because it has slowly been losing air. The app on my Explorer that tracks all the tire pressures was very helpful. The leak was very slow, so it wasn't noticeable when just looking at the tire. The bad news was that I had a nail in the tire and I needed to get two new tires. We returned to the tire store today to get the new tires installed. I'll need to buy front tires when we get home. I lost track that they are almost six years old.

Coquille River Lighthouse

After dinner, we returned to the South Jetty area to photograph the Coquille River Lighthouse from across the Coquille River. From this angle, you can clearly see the basalt "foundation" below the lighthouse that defies the power of the river trying to erode the river bank.

South Jetty

South Jetty "Sunset"

We parked at the South Jetty and looked south down the beach toward Bandon Beach where we've been shooting most of the week. The fog was slowly rolling in, and the waves were building as high tide approached. I got a few pictures of the huge waves crashing against the sea stacks, but I basically struck out shooting along the South Jetty Beach.

Carol walked much farther down the beach and did much better. In fact one of her favorite images was a scene from tonight.
