Missed It Again!
The weather forecast promised overcast skies for sunrise, but I set my alarm for 15 minutes earlier than yesterday and decided to get up anyway. As soon as I entered the park, I could see the pre-dawn light was starting to light the clouds over the canyon. I skipped my plan to shoot from Bryce Point and returned to Sunset Point. As I turned off the main park road, golden light reflected off the clouds over the amphitheater. By the time I reached Sunset Point and got set up, most of the color was gone from the sky. I was there before sunrise, but today's show was all about the pre-dawn light.
I managed a star burst just as the sun rose above the horizon and there were 11 minutes of filtered warm light across the formations, but I missed the best show for the second straight day.
