Kanab
Today was a travel day. We slept in, packed up, and drove the 75 miles to Kanab. We're camping at the Kanab RV Corral, a small campground right in the town of Kanab. When Carol made the reservation, Dale told her he had just taken possession a few days earlier. That was actually a bit reassuring. Several of the reviews on Yelp had talked about the old lady who didn't like kids and who could be very rude.
When we checked in, Dale was very nice and gave us the pick of the unoccupied sites. The campground is fairly typical of campgrounds in small towns. It's basically a parking lot with lots and lots of gravel. There are no grassed areas, but there are lots of trees for shade. The only issue we're having is with the wifi, and the "wifi guy" was meeting with Dale when we arrived. I'm assuming he already has plans to upgrade the wifi.
After lunch, we explored Kanab before stocking up with groceries. The checker at the grocery store asked us where we were from because of our accents. Our accents? What accents? She said we didn't talk like people from around there. When we told her we were from Sand Diego, she said she was from Grass Valley (Northern California).
