Chihully
As predicted, it began raining about 8:00. We decided it was a good day to do our "indoor stuff" and planned our day around the Seattle Center area and the Chihully Garden and Glass Museum. When we were in Seattle 4 years ago, they had the downtown area around the I-5 torn up, which made it hard to get anywhere. It's 4 years later and I think it's just as bad--if not worse. Luckily, the Chihully museum is right beside the Space Needle so we had a reference point while trying to navigate through the construction zones and closed streets.
The Chihully was nearly as good the second time as the first. The surpise and awe of seeing each display for the first time was gone, but Chihully's work is beyond amazing. The museum wasn't crowded, so we had plenty of time to wander around and look at the displays from lots of different angles. Neither of us wanted to carry a camera in case of rain, so we both settled for cell phone images.
We had planned to take the Monorail to Pikes Place Market and then walk down to the piers, but I had a weird pain in my hip and we cut our day short. That gave Carol a little more time to get ready for tomorrow. She is flying down to Portland for Matt & Jackie's baby shower over the weekend.
