Tulare
Today was our shortest "hop" of the trip. We traditionally stay at the Best Western in Tulare our last night of all trips north on I-5. They have plenty of parking so we can park the RV and not unhitch Ruby. They have one of the best breakfast buffets of all the Best Westerns, and most importantly, it sets it up so we drive through Los Angeles in the middle of the day to avoid traffic. That is huge! I hate driving in heavy traffic on the last day of a long trip.
We continued down the Central Valley today with a little more variety of agricultural crops. There were still lots of orchards, but there were a lot more corn fields. Most of the corn looked like a variety used to feed cattle rather than for seed. As we neared Tulare, there were more Devin Nunes for Congress signs and "Make California Great Again" signs. Nunes is Trump's stooge and has basically abandoned his constituents in California. He refuses to do townhall meetings or do interviews in his own district. It will be interesting to see how he does even in a extremely far-right district like this.
Our other tradition with stopping in Tulare is KFC for our final dinner. It was within walking distance, and it wasn't too hot, which is a bit unusual.
One more day and we'll be home...
