It doesn't get much easier than this. We got up, made the bed, pulled in the motorhome slides, and we were back on the road to Oregon. We still had a long day ahead, but we were off to a good start.
We hit Sacramento early and sailed right through with no delays. Then it was driving through the rice paddies of California. We've been through this area a couple of times before, but it still seems just as strange to see miles and miles of rice fields growing along the highway.
When we reached Redding, we knew the flatlands were coming to an end. It was time to start climbing as we neared Shasta Lake and then Mt. Shasta. As expected, Mt. Shasta was covered with snow. It's going to be a very late spring in the Cascades this year.

Today's lunch was left over BBQ ribs. Rest stops and the microwave make for some interesting lunches as we travel.
We reached the Glenyan RV Park about 4:00. It is an interesting community. About 1/3 of the campers are long-term campers and are comfortably "moved in." We are part of the transient campers. We have a nice shady campsite walled on two sides by wild roses. It is certainly not a fancy campground, but the owner was very nice, and it is like camping out in the back woods. If it weren't for the volunteer fire engine garage across the road, you might think you were far from any towns.
