The Best Laid Plans

Today was a moving day to Monument Valley. We cleaned everything up, re-packed the Explorer, and detached the "mother ship" from the water, sewer, and electricity life lines. All we had left was to hook up the Explorer to the motorhome and leave. Carol wanted to make a couple of phone calls before we left, so we took a break. One of the calls was to check on Aunt Syl who is 98 and having some health issues. After hearing of the seriousness of Syl's condition, Carol decided to fly back to San Diego for a couple days so she could visit her. That started a second flurry of activity as she made plane reservations.

We spent the rest of the day getting the motorhome set up again, packing for Carol's trip, and checking weather forecasts. Since it's supposed to rain the entire time Carol will be gone, it seemed best that I stay in Farmington. The closest airports are Durango and Salt Lake City. I could have moved to Monument Valley for 3 days and then driven back to pick up Carol, but the roads in Monument Valley would be a horrible muddy mess in the rain. And the rest of our planned day-trips in that area are all on dirt roads around Cedar Mesa. They would be impassible.

It looks like I'm going to have some quiet days to work on my images and get caught up on the Website.
